She was married to Herman Jaggers, formerly of Pontotoc, in November of 1986, and they shared 24 happy years together. In her earlier years, she worked as a home health nurse and held a couple of other positions before retiring and becoming a housewife. She was a Baptist and enjoyed studying her Bible. She loved her special puppy dog, Wendy.<br><br>Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 6, at Baldwin-Nowell Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Fred Hartley officiating. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. He was a retired employee of Stratford and Barclay Industries. He also served as a Union County Constable. He was a member of The Anchor Holds Church.<br><br>Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at the United Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Gary Tedford and the Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. Crumpton and Judi L. Stanford Dye. He graduated from Benton Central High School in Oxford, Ind. in 1981. He joined the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Infantry in Panama. He lived in Mesa, Ariz. many years before moving to the Tupelo area five years ago. He worked in the plastics industry much of his life and was employed by InterPac Plastics in Tupelo at the time of his death. A member of the Keownville Baptist Church near New Albany, he enjoyed playing golf, hunting and all sports, especially watching the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers play. He was an acclaimed little league umpire for area baseball teams and thoroughly enjoyed his contributions to area youth.<br><br>Services were at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Keownville Baptist Church on Hwy. 30 east of New Albany with Bro. He grew up in New Albany with two brothers, Roland and Bill, and one sister, Martha Nell. Mr. Wilson played several sports but excelled at high school and college football. He was a graduate of Mississippi College and the University of Mississippi, earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling. As a businessman in the community, he was known for his sense of humor, as well as for helping others in need. <br>The first thing anyone learned about Mr. Wilson was how much he loved his five daughters, Deborah (Jim) Kitchens of San Francisco, Calif., Lezlie Laxton of Indianapolis, Ind., Kathrine Gluvna of Santa Fe, N.M., Cara (Ray) Corey of Kennewick, Wash., and Amanda (Paul) Morris of Saratoga, Calif. A graduate of Mississippi State University, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma and of the Snow Campaign Chapter of the DAR. Mrs. Stokes was a teacher for 41 years. The last 12 years of her career she was a well-loved librarian at Ford Elementary School in New Albany. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in New Albany and an associate member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Greenville, S.C. <br><br>A memorial service was held Monday, Aug. 30, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. A second memorial service was at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at United Funeral Service in New Albany. The Rev. Leslie Nabors officiated. Following the service, she was buried beside her husband, W.M. She was reared by her grandparents, Chisom and Dritha Cox Vance. She joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the Usher Board. She attended Region IV Work Activities. In 2007 she received the Tippah Industries Employee of the Year Award for her hard-working, outgoing and eager-to-learn personality. She was employed by Chicken Supreme. She was retired. He was a self-employed electrician and worked for other electrical companies most of his life before becoming disabled. He was a Christian and an active member of the Calvary Assembly before becoming ill. He was a longtime employee of Pennsylvania Tire and then worked as a horse trainer. He loved working with his horses and was active with the 4-H clubs, helping physically challenged children with equestrian therapy.
